Looking to make professional connections in the real world? The Undergraduate Professional Mentorship Program (PMP) connects Leeds juniors, seniors, and business minors with experienced professionals for one-on-one mentoring. Mentors come from a wide range of industries, roles, and companies, and are based all over the U.S. and beyond. Matches are made based on your interests—like industry, career path, location, and even hobbies.

Your mentor will:

  • Be a coach, advisor, and connector
  • helping you grow your network
  • Help you get career-ready as you transition from college to the professional world
  • Be a friend and confidant with any professional concerns
  • Help you with resume/ cover letter concerns andÌýinternship ²õ±ð²¹°ù³¦³ó±ð²õÌýÌý

The PMP currently serves junior and senior undergraduates as well as MBA candidates at the Leeds school. ÌýStudents come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, but they all share a desire to engage with business leaders and change makers they aspire to become.

Participants in the PMP (both students and mentors) complete an application and are matched based on a student’s desire for functional area and industry experience, geographic location, gender, and other hobbies and interests.

Students (Leeds juniors and seniors) and mentors are matched for the remainder of the student’s academic journey (1-2 years) and are expected to touch base 2 times per semester.Ìý Additional interaction is encouraged. ÌýThe PMP supports mentors and mentees with workshops, trainings, and social events open to all program participants.

Undergraduate students may enter the program either junior or senior year, both in the fall and spring semesters.Ìý MBAs enter at the beginning of their second semester. ÌýMentors are welcome to participate in either the undergraduate or MBA program and can indicate your preference on the Mentor Application.

From the students involved:Ìý

"Kendall (her mentor) not only cared about my professional growth, but also my personal growth. She really ensured me that there was no "right" path to take, and helped me along the path that I did choose to take in the best way possible. She encouraged my creativity and showed me strengths about myself that I hadn't really thought of. I feel much more confident about going into the professional world and not just as another worker, but as me!" - Jade Gordon, 2024 PMP MenteeÌý

"[My mentor] has given me a lot of advice concerning battling imposter syndrome in the workplace and has provided me a safe space. Working with [my mentor] has allowed me to build my confidence. Additionally, she has helped me in laying out potential paths post-graduation." - Hailee Settlemoir, 2024 PMP Mentee

"Eric (his mentor) was real from the start. He and I had the same background and he was no stranger to letting me know how it is and what the struggle was like. We connected on a level where our Junior to Senior years were very similar, and he really became someone who I could come to for a real straight answer or advice. He could tell when I needed words of encouragement, and he gave the me truth without putting me down. I genuinely appreciated all that he's done for me." - Gabriel Cervantes, 2024 PMP Mentee

"Patrick (his mentor) has been a great help to my professional development. He has done a phenomenal job at helping me network and finding new connections. He has also answered many of my questions about my potential career and given me great insights as to what it could look like." - Daniel Cruz, 2024 PMP Mentee

"Rupal (her mentor) has been fantastic in every way. She has served not only as a mentor, but as someone who legitimately cares to help deliver the best she can to her mentee. Rupal has helped develop my professional skills, but has also helped me walk through the weeds of my own thoughts and to learn how to get out of my own way. I will never be able to thank her enough for her time and knowledge." - Amy Huges, 2024 PMP Mentee

"I really enjoyed the professional knowledge that he enlightened me with. He was also always available to meet about anything I needed help with. He was also able to help me in terms of getting ready for jobs and interview practice. He was also able to help me with a school project interview, which was very kind of him. He is very deserving because of how much he cares about the people he works with and wants to see them succeed." - Amar Mehidic, 2024 PMP Mentee

"[My Mentor] cuts through all the nonsense and focuses on what's truly important with our meetings. He is always truthful in how things work and shares some of the most valuable insights on how he found his success. He has helped me realize what is truly important in my life to pursue and clarified that as long as you are working with purpose you don't have to have it all figured out!" - Alden Wade, 2024 PMP Mentee

"My mentor went above and beyond her roles and responsibilities. She provided very thoughtful and thorough advice throughout our meetings and was even able to meet with me in person when I went back home for winter break. Not only that, but she remembered when I told her I was more of an introvert and gave me a book on how introverts make great leaders!" - Alexander Reid, 2024 PMP Mentee

"My mentor was always when I needed her and was flexible with meeting times and communication. She gave me great advice that led me to a job in NYC. She also gave me resources to apply for jobs at her company. Overall, a good mentorship and was very successful." - Kathleen Tilton, 2024 PMP Mentee
