Executive MBA Residencies

Networking and Teaching

There is perhaps nothing more distinctive than the week-long residencies of the Executive MBA program. Offered once in the Fall semester and twice in the Spring semester, each residency transports you to a place where it all comes to life—connections with your cohort, case studies and concepts, and candid conversations with faculty.

Orientation kicks off the program in Vail, Colorado. All but one of the residencies take place on the beautiful University of Colorado Boulder campus. The last residency of the program will take place at an international location. There, you will complete your final term of courses and learn global business firsthand through exploring different cultures and economies.

Mountain Orientation & 2nd Year Kick Off

The program begins with orientation in Colorado’s gorgeous mountains at an upscale hotel in Vail, one of Colorado’s most famous mountain resorts. This three-day event (Friday - Sunday) serves as the program’s kickoff for first-year students and a return for the final year for second-year students. Students will meet faculty, staff and directors from the Centers of Excellence, research centers, board members and others from the Leeds business community. Students will learn how to be effective remote learners, learn the art of networking, and participate in team-building activities to build strong relationships with their classmates. Your downtime allows for hiking, biking and fishing, among other activities, in beautiful Vail, Colorado.

Boulder Residences

The fall, winter and spring residencies take place on the beautiful Boulder campus. Students spend their days in the classroom and most evenings on coursework. If there is a home game, they may take in the excitement of a ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ football game. Networking and academic enrichment events will also be provided. At the end of the first academic year, the spring residency allows students to complete an innovation project that pulls together their entire first-year curriculum.

Executive MBA Program Residency in Barcelona

International Residency

The Leeds EMBA program finishes with the international residency—with locations rotating each year. The Class of 2025 will travel to Spain and Morocco. Students will experience the contrasts between the economies of Europe and North Africa.

Barcelona, Spain: Explore the IT, aerospace, automotive, and logistics industries. Spain’s automotive industry ranks among the highest in the world.

Rabat, Morroco: Considered a developing market. Students will explore their economic development, moving from agriculture towards more manufacturing in various industries. Their location means Morocco is a bridge from Africa to Europe. This provides a unique opportunity for Morocco.
