Leeds Undergraduate Scholarships

Both incoming and current undergraduate students in the Leeds School of Business may be eligible for the scholarships listed below. Students enrolled in an MBA or Master of Science program may be eligible for Leeds' scholarships for graduate students.

The Office of Admissions

Award consideration is based on your admissions application, no additional application is required. Notification of selection typically occurs at the time of admission to ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder.

The Leeds School of Business

Award consideration is based on your admissions application, no additional application is required. vary in criteria and amount, and include scholarships based on academic merit, financial need, or other donor-specified criteria. It is recommended that you submit a FAFSA to be considered for need-based Leeds scholarships.

Due to the delay with the 2024-2025 FAFSA, students selected for scholarships will be notified via email early May.

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships

The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder Scholarship Application is required to be considered for campus-based awards through this office. Students can access the application beginning November 1st, and the deadline is March 15th, 2024.

Prospective students can access the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder Scholarship Application shortly after applying for admission. You do not need to wait until you have received your admissions decision to start applying for scholarships!

It is strongly recommended that you submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the priority deadline of February 15th for need-based award consideration.

Private Scholarships

We also encourage you to research private scholarships opportunities. These can range from scholarships from your local civic organizations, utility companies, credit unions and other businesses in your hometown to scholarships offered by national non-profits and organizations. Instructions for how to access the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder application can be found here. Once you have completed the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ application, the Leeds Scholarship application will become available.

Both applications open November 1st and are due March 15th, 2024.

An updated FAFSA is strongly encouraged for consideration of need-based Leeds scholarship opportunities, and may be required if you previously received a renewable, need-based Leeds scholarship.

Notification

Reviews for current student scholarships begin once spring grades post in mid-May, and students will be notified of awards received no later than July 1st. You must remain a Leeds student to maintain eligibility for your awards, along with any other scholarship-specific requirements.

    Sample Scholarships

    Leeds offers over $1.5 million in scholarships to undergraduate students each year. Below are samples of the various opportunities available. .

    Established by the Hummel Family Foundation in 2017, the Hummel Scholars Program was created to provide scholarship support up to $12,500 annually for incoming freshmen at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder. The family’s vision is to attract business-minded students to Leeds and support them throughout their four-year degree. Those selected will immediately become part of a network of current and past Hummel Scholars, being invited to attend annual events and participate in appreciation activities.

    The Community Development Group Student Support Funds, created by Boulder residents Chuck Bellock and Madeleine Morrison, will provide scholarship support up to $4,500 annually to local outstanding students to assist them in attending ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder’s Leeds School of Business. The scholarship aid will specifically focus on students who demonstrate financial need from the towns of Erie, Frederick, Dacono and Broomfield. In addition to scholarship support, the Funds will academically assist the scholarship recipients through campus resources such as tutoring, academic advising and community building, as well as provide additional assistance to scholarship recipients who experience a financial emergency.

    The GJO: Giving Career Opportunities Through Education Endowed Scholarship was created by three Leeds alumnae– Kimbirly Orr, Lisa Gutierrez, and Tracey Jenkins – and supports undergraduate students who actively participate in the Diverse Scholars Program (DSP) at the Leeds School of Business.

    The Erika Grim Endowed Scholarship was established by Leeds alumna Erika Grim (Finance ’01) and will be awarded for the first time in the fall of 2018 to undergraduate students from the Midwest United States. This scholarship fund is to help those students who aspire to spread their wings across the country to have the courage and financial assistance to make that choice.

    The Charles Schwab Scholarship is an award for juniors and seniors at Leeds who are finance majors pursuing the personal financial planning (PFP) track.  The award is $500 per semester, renewable for a maximum of four semesters ($2,000 total).  Student recipients must remain in the PFP track and be enrolled in at least one PFP course to continue receiving the scholarship.
