- CENTER FOR ETHICS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Katherine is passionate about working with students and helping them identify clear career pathways to working in clean energy, climate tech, and sustainability. She completed a master's degree in Sustainable Development and Latin American studies at NYU and Columbia University. Her thesis focused on clean energy finance and greenhouse gas accounting in the Global South. As a Program Manager at the Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) in Aspen, Katherine helped create Energy Smart Colorado in 2010, a residential energy efficiency program initially funded by the US Department of Energy. She worked closely with policy experts, business leaders, and utility executives to establish an energy efficiency ecosystem of trained workers, funding opportunities, and engaged customers. Energy Smart Colorado now covers 18 counties in Colorado.
Most recently, Katherine has been living in the Bay Area working as an educator and academic leader at an independent high school. She loves working with students and is an expert in teaching creative ways of thinking and learning. She is excited to be back in Colorado and working on business and sustainability at CESR.
