UNITAR Partners with Leeds School of Business at Ƶ Boulder
) recently announced its co-partnership with the Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility at the Leeds School of Business and The First Peoples Investment Engagement Program (FPIEP) in a , stating a mission of working toward the ethical accomplishment of SDGs in accordance with the 2030 agenda.
What is UNITAR?
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) was formed to encourage innovative learning solutions among individuals, organizations and institutions to advance global decision-making that will lead to a better future. UNITAR has become an expert at training individuals and organizations, particularly regarding the agenda for the and in educating UN Members on ways to maneuver the diplomatic environment.

In order to advance global progress on the SDGs, UNITAR has partnered with the Leeds School of Business and FPIEP to develop an online certificate program called . FPIEP is a partnership between Faculty at the University of Colorado Law School and at Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder, that works from a foundation of indigenous values to achieve a sustainable future for all. As stated in the , the purpose of this partnership is to achieve “high-quality learning solutions” and to develop “related knowledge products and services to enhance decision-making and to support country-level action for overcoming global challenges.”

Ƶ the Course
The purpose of this new online course is to “...prepare participants to handle various ethical issues and conflicts related to the achievement of the SDGs,” according to the recent . To achieve this goal, the course has been divided into three sections that will take place on three separate days: Fundamental Value Commitments in Self-Leadership (July 3rd), Ethical Decision-making in Achieving the SDGs (September 11th) and How to be an Ethical Leader in the Global Ecosystem (November 6th). Together, these three components foster the skills and character necessary for SDG leadership, ensuring that the means by which our global goals are achieved are virtuous.
The course will contain video lectures, team collaboration and case studies. The program runs from summer 2019 through fall of 2019 and will be taught by FPIEP’s Carla Fredericks.
