Buffs Give Back

Be a part of something big when you join Forever Buffs for a day of service this April. No matter where you are, this is an opportunity to connect with fellow alums while making a difference in your community.
Each Buffs Give Back event is coordinated by an alumni volunteer and centered around doing something meaningful for each unique community. Individuals or groups can apply to lead a service project that is meaningful to them and their community, and the projects are intended to be open to alumni, family and friends of ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder.
If you're still interested in applying to be a Project Leader please reach out directly to Leia Atas at leia.atas@colorado.edu. Please note that by applying to be a Project Leader, you will be the on-the-ground coordinator for the service project you choose.

Volunteer Opportunities
2024 Left Hand Half Marathon & Colorado Brewery Running Series
Volunteers will be helping out on the race course (water stations, directional assistance at turns), and at the start/finish line (water, medals, snacks)
Date: Sunday, April 21, 2024
Time: 6:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m. (6 hours) with possible shift flexibility
Location: Left Hand Brewing Company, 1235 Boston Ave, Longmont, CO 80501
Special Notes: In exchange for your morning, we will provide:
- Free Brewery Running Series Volunteer t-shirt
- Water and snacks
- 40% off our Colorado Brewery Running Series merchandise during the event
- A free entry to any of our 2024 Colorado Brewery Running Series 5k events
- And of course, a free craft beer at the end of your shift!*
*Must be 21 or older to receive beer–those under age receive a complementary non-alcoholic beverage

Boys and Girls Club of Pueblo County and the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center
Over 100 Boys and Girls Club members from grades 3-12 will spend the morning learning about nature conservancy and stewardship in the morning, followed by a lunch and afternoon clean up of the riverwalk area.

Location: 5200 Nature Center Rd, Pueblo, CO 81003
Special Notes: Volunteers will need to fill out a waiver and a volunteer agreement form with the Boys and Girls Club. Volunteers will be needed to help students in the morning learn about raptors in the area, direct students to breakout sessions, prepare and serve lunch, and supervise clean-up efforts in the afternoon.

Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail
The Friends of Mount Vernon Trail will be improving the trail near the old power plant in Alexandria. We will be removing invasive kudzu vines that are killing nearby trees and constantly growing over the trail.

Earth Day Clean Up
On Earth Day, gather with ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder alumni, family and friends to help clean up the Bruce Monroe Community Park!
Date: Saturday, April 20, 2024
Time: 10 a.m.–noon EDT
Location: 3012 Georgia Ave. NW, Bruce Monroe Community Park, Washington, DC
Site leaders will brief you on basic safety measures to ensure that everyone has a safe, fun time. All tools and supplies needed will be provided during check in - no need to bring your own gloves unless you have a favorite pair.
This is a family friendly event and kids are welcome! However, all participants under 18 must also have completed registration.
We will meet at Bruce Monroe Community Park and move to surrounding neighborhoods, starting on Columbia Road and ending at the Banneker Recreation Center on Euclid Street.
