Graduate Research Opportunities

Overview

Research is a fundamental part of our graduate curriculum. Students are expected to perform independent and original research in the theoretical and/or experimental realm from which the dissertation results are derived.

Departmental Opportunities

The University of Colorado has more than 50 tenured or tenure-track faculty in the physics department. These faculty are conducting exciting cutting-edge research in a wide variety of fields.  Students are encouraged to explore the research being done by faculty (using the menu on the right) and to talk directly with faculty who conduct research of interest to the student.

Other Research Opportunities

There are also opportunities to perform research toward a Ph.D. degree in many other areas in and around Boulder.
