Undergraduate Coursework

Our undergraduate program provides a firm foundation for future graduate study in the sciences of human communication, audiology, speech-language pathology, and in many other fields. Students have the opportunity to participate in clinical observation and service learning during the latter stages of their program. The undergraduate major in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences is directed toward two types of students.  For students planning careers as speech-language pathologists and audiologists, we offer pre-professional training.  For students interested in the sciences of human communication, we offer broad coursework in speech, language, and hearing sciences.

Instructor

Undergraduate students may also complete the Speech Pathology Assistant Program, which will allow them to work as an assistant to a speech pathologist in the public schools. Some career opportunities in this field require national certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  In speech pathology and audiology, graduate study is required to become a certified clinician.
