Teaching Council

The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Art Museum Teaching Council works to integrate ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵAM resources into academic life at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ. This Council is responsible for building relationships between museum staff and other educators (all those with teaching responsibilities) with the aim of connecting ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵAM collections, exhibitions and programming to courses across campus. Council members have input on how ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵAM interfaces with campus and provides guidance on strategic initiatives, including the development of collections, exhibitions and programming. Members are advocates for the museum at their respective departmental meetings and are expected to actively support ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵAM events and educational programs. Members are expected integrate exhibitions and/or collections into course curriculum.Ìý

The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Art Museum Teaching Council meets at the beginning of each semester to learn about upcoming exhibitions, recent acquisitions and educational programs. The Council is composed of eight to ten campus educators representing a cross-section of the university, including faculty, instructors, and ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ employees whose positions carry a teaching component. Term limits are three years, renewable once. Ad hoc sub-committees may be formed to advise on museum strategic initiatives and exhibition development.Ìý

The Council is co-chaired by a ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder faculty member and the chief curator and director of academic engagement.
