Student Groups

The Colorado Data Science Team (CODATA) is a team of data scientists, machine learners, number crunchers and statisticians at the University of Colorado Boulder. Our primary goal is educational: to get hands-on experience working in teams applying modern machine learning tools to real problems with real data.

The Computer Science Graduate Students Association (CSGSA) is a student organization run by and for graduate students from the Computer Science Department at University of Colorado Boulder. Its main goal is to foster community amongst graduate students in the Department of Computer Science and other affiliated departments/institutes.

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Cybersecurity teaches offensive and defensive security to students of all experience levels. We hold talks and demonstrations so that people can learn about cybersecurity and the security industry. In addition, we participate in competitions and networking events with the Boulder InfoSec community.

At the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Game Developers Club, you will learn how the process of how to design a game and develop it with the end-goal of building your own game using the Unity game engine or a game engine of your choosing! This will be done using a mix between group discussions, tutorials, and small group projects.

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Women in Computing (¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵWIC) is the ACM-W chapter within the Computer Science Department at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder. ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵWIC is dedicated to supporting women and diversity in computing. We encourage interaction from all who are interested in issues regarding women and diversity in computing to create a forum in which to share information about career, academic, and social opportunities.

Like to write programs? Dig into interesting datasets? Design creative works? Or maybe you’ve never written a line of code? We will provide the space and the resources for you to express your creativity, ingenuity, and determination to create anything you want to. Whether you’re building your first website, dabbling in Photoshop, or hacking with an Oculus Rift, Hack¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ is for you. Hack¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ is for people of all backgrounds and experiences. 

The Computer Science Graduate Professional Development Club (CS-GPDC) is a student-run organization run by graduate students to help their fellow classmates within Computer Science prepare for a full time job or internship. We welcome all graduate students of varying skill levels to join the weekly meetings where we host coding challenges, networking sessions with industry professionals, mock interviews, and presentations on varying topics to help the club to help students gain new skills through continuing education and career training before entering the workforce. 

µþ±ô³Ü±ð±è°ù¾±²Ô³ÙÌýµþ´Ç³Ü±ô»å±ð°ù is a student organization with the mission of developing, designing, and updating software for nonprofits. We’ve partnered with Colorado nonprofits such as Thinking Huts, Safehouse Denver, and more on projects ranging from a respite-matching web app for foster parents to web scraper development for 3D printing schools in Madagascar. It is a great opportunity for students looking to use their tech and leadership skills for social good!
