Other Fees and Charges on the University Bill

 

Depending on your student status, selections and/or classes, you may see one or more of the following fees on the university bill.

A&S Tech (ASSET) Fee

Required for all students taking classes in the College of Arts & Sciences, regardless of college, school, program or area of study, except for eligible graduate assistants.

The ASSET Fee supports development and delivery of instruction in the College of Arts & Sciences. It was approved by the Board of Regents in 2008.

$1.32 per credit hour per semester


Business Career Center Fee

Required for all undergraduate students admitted to the business school.

The Business Career Center Fee is required for undergraduate students admitted to the Leeds School of Business. This fee was eliminated for graduate students in Fall 2020.

$23 per semester


Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) Fee

Required for all graduate students in the fall and spring except eligible graduate assistants.

This fee supports Graduate and Professional Student Government. It was approved by the Board of Regents in 2002 and increased from $7.50 to $11.62 in Fall 2021. It increased to $15.57 in Fall 2024. 

$15.57 per semester


Immigration Compliance Fee

Required for all international students.

The Immigration Compliance Fee funds mandatory federal compliance reporting for international students. It is nonrefundable if the student withdraws during the period when withdrawal processing fees apply. This fee was approved by the Board of Regents in 2003 and increased from $22 to $40 in Fall 2014. (This fee is not included in the compensation package for eligible graduate assistants and therefore it is not waived.)

$40 per semester


Miscellaneous Charges

Miscellaneous charges on the bill can come from departments on campus including but not limited to these examples. If you have questions about any miscellaneous charges on the university bill, the originating department can help you. Please visit their website for contact information.

 

New Student Fee

Required for all new degree-seeking students

The New Student Fee is a one-time, nonrefundable fee assessed at the time of first registration for students entering a degree-seeking program. Nondegree students who are admitted to degree status are charged the New Student Fee at the time they first register. The fee varies depending on degree and international status. (This fee is not waived for graduate assistants.)

Costs listed here show tuition, mandatory fees, books and on-campus housing and food, all of which are billed by the university on a semester basis.
