Boulder Employee Tuition Assistance Benefit (TAB)

  • NEW! The Tuition Assistance Benefit no longer requires employees using the benefit for themselves to register seven days before the start of the semester. You will register on your assigned enrollment date.
  • Spring 2025 Tuition Assistance Benefit Applications open December 2.
  • The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder deadline to submit the nondegree application is January 3.
  • A benefit application must be completed every term.

Tuition Assistance Benefit for Employees

  • Eligible employees may receive a waiver for up to a total of 12 credit hours of tuition (space-available basis) each year.
  • Mandatory student fees and other applicable education costs still apply. You will log in to to see your bill.
  • Employees can use the benefit on any ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ campus, excluding Continuing Education courses. However, CE courses with prefixes CCOM, OREC and EDUA on the Boulder campus are eligible.
  • Employees must reapply for the benefit every semester or term.
  • Boulder and System employees and their dependents can both use the benefit at the same time (12 hrs for the employee and 40% discount for the dependent) when enrolling on the Boulder campus. The other campuses can share the 12 hours at the same time.
  • Degree-seeking employees will register on their assigned enrollment date.
  • Nondegree employees taking Main Campus classes can enroll during open enrollment which starts the Friday before classes begin. See the  for exact dates.

Tuition Assistance Benefit for Dependents of ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Employees

Employees need to reapply for the benefit for their dependent every semester or term. Please visit on the Employee Service Tuition Assistance website for full details.

Option A – Employee’s Home Campus is ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder or System Administration

  • Dependents of ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder and System Administration employees can receive a tuition discount of 40% each semester. If the dependent is a Colorado resident undergraduate, the discount applies to the student share of tuition after the College Opportunity Fund stipend has been applied.
  • Dependents can take eligible undergraduate or graduate courses.
  • Dependents can use the benefit on the Boulder campus.
  • Mandatory student fees and other applicable education costs still apply. Nondegree high school students receiving district assistance and using TAB as a dependent will qualify for a waiver of most fees. Fill out the each semester. 
  • Degree-seeking dependents can enroll full or part-time on their assigned enrollment date in .
  • Nondegree dependents taking Main Campus classes can enroll during open enrollment which starts the Friday before classes begin. See the  for exact dates.

Option B – Other Campus

  • Dependents attend class at a ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ campus other than the campus where the employee works.
  • Eligible employees may receive $3,240 per academic year to apply toward dependent tuition, up to 12 credits (around $270 per credit hour).
  • Degree-seeking dependents can enroll full or part-time on their assigned enrollment date in .
  • Nondegree dependents taking Main Campus classes can enroll during open enrollment which starts the Friday before classes begin. See the  for exact dates.
  • Dependents can only attend undergraduate, non-extended studies, credit-bearing courses.
