Scholarships

The College of Arts andSciences (A&S) awards more than 800 scholarships each year to incoming first-year, transfer, continuingand graduate students with declared majors and/or minors in theArts & Humanities, Natural Sciencesand Social Sciences徱DzԲ.

Scholarships are awarded on academic merit, financial need, extracurricular activities, leadership experienceor other considerations.

Students must submitƵ Boulder’s scholarship applicationto be considered.The Ƶ Boulder scholarship application allows you to both apply for multiple Ƶ Boulder scholarships with a general application and gain access to additional scholarship opportunities.Additional opportunities may require supplemental essays, letters of recommendationor other materials to be submitted as part of their applications.

  • Important Deadlines:
    • Ƶ’s General Scholarship Application Opens: Nov.1.
    • Ƶ’s General Scholarship Application Closes (continuing/incoming first-year): March 15.
    • Ƶ’s General Scholarship Application Closes (transfer): June 15.

Some scholarships have alternative deadlines, so be sure to review scholarship details.

  • Notification:ٳܻԳٲselected to receivea scholarship will be notified by email.
    • Continuing/Incoming first-year student: mid-April.
    • Transfer students: Mid-July.
  • Need-Based Eligibility: To be eligible for need-based scholarship awards, applicants must submit theFree Application for Federal Student AID (FAFSA)to the Office of Financial Aid by Feb. 15 of each calendar year. To remain eligible for need-based awards, FAFSA results must be submitted each year.

How to Apply

The best way to apply for Ƶ Boulder scholarships, including those in the College of Arts and Sciences, is by submitting the Ƶ Boulder Scholarship Application.

This is a streamlined application that allows students to apply for multiple Ƶ Boulder scholarships by completing a general application that includes questions about extracurricular activities, community service, leadership and work experienceand a general essay. After submitting the general application, students may be prompted to complete supplemental questions, such as a special essay, for additional recommended scholarship opportunities.

Once you have submitted the general application, you can browse through recommended scholarships matched to you (labeled “Recommended”), all Ƶ Boulder scholarships (labeled “Ours”), and even external scholarships (labeled “External”).

Don’t forget to follow-up on those additional recommended scholarships by completing supplemental questions and submitting any required supporting documents by the scholarship’s deadline.
