<p>Business accelerators -- entities that give money, guidance and space for a set amount of time to startups -- heavily rely on volunteer mentors to promote innovation, according to a new University of Colorado Boulder study.</p>

<p>The 23rd annual Rothgerber Conference Oct. 15 and 16 will celebrate the career of Professor Hal Bruff, who served as Colorado Law’s dean from 1996 until 2003. Conversations will focus on the questions raised in Bruff’s most recent book, <i>Untrodden Ground: How Presidents Interpret the Constitution</i>, in which he explores how all 44 presidents have responded to pressing matters by setting new legal precedents, which often developed into standard practices.</p>

<p>Anne Castle, who served as assistant secretary for water and science in the U.S. Department of the Interior from 2009 to 2014, has joined the Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy and the Environment – part of the University of Colorado Boulder law school – as a senior fellow. </p>

<p>In recognition of national Constitution Day today, students and alumni of the University of Colorado Law School will teach constitutional lessons in high school classrooms across Colorado through Sept. 25.</p>

<p>University of Colorado Boulder Provost Russell L. Moore today announced that Dean Philip J. Weiser will step down as dean and return to the faculty of the University of Colorado Law School on July 1, 2016.</p>

<p>For the fourth year, the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ-Boulder's Mini Law School, which is open to the campus community and the public, will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. over eight Tuesdays Sept. 8 to Nov. 3. Designed for non-lawyers wanting to grasp and navigate the basics of the legal system, the course will cover everything from constitutional law to intellectual property, environmental, estate planning, family, criminal and business law, as well as litigation.</p>

<p>Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck announced a $500,000 gift to be divided between the University of Colorado Law School (¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ) and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law (DU). Each school will use its $250,000 gift to create an endowed fellowship program. This gift is the single largest gift from a law firm in the history of both universities.</p>

<p class="p1">The University of Colorado Boulder’s <a href="http://www.siliconflatirons.com/index.php"><span class="s1">Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship</span></a> this fall will pilot a new Entrepreneurs In Residence (EIR) program to bring mentorship to students and allow entrepreneurs domestically and from around the world to be part of Colorado’s vibrant startup community.</p>

<p>John A. Ikard, president and CEO of FirstBank Holding Company, will deliver a talk titled "Leading an Ethical Organization in a Sometimes Unethical World" on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 5:30 p.m. in the Wittemyer Courtroom at the Wolf Law Building on the University of Colorado Boulder campus.</p>
