Tonight and tomorrow: Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema

ATLAS Center for Media, Art and Performance presents the 13th annual premiere of the Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema, dedicated to works that merge the beauty of dance with the innovations of cinematic art. Comprising 19 short films by local, regional and international artists, screenings on Friday and Saturday feature different programs. Looping video installations open at 7 p.m.

Just in time for the United States presidential election, Ƶ Boulder's Department of Theatre & Dance gears up for a production of "44 Plays for 44 Presidents," a funny and poignant whirlwind trip through American history. The production, presented in collaboration with Boulder’s own square product theatre, runs Sept. 23 through Oct. 2 in the University Theatre.

Dance students and faculty join forces for 'The Current'

Each year, Ƶ-Boulder dance students and faculty come together for “The Current,” an annual showcase of brand-new pieces. This year’s performances take place April 15-17 and feature evocative, original work by dance professors Erika Randall and Donna Mejia, lecturer Larry Southall, alumna Megan Odom and Roser Guest Artist Faye Driscoll.

Hip-hop artist Tory Lanez, best known for his hit "Say It," will perform on March 29, at 8:30 p.m. at Ƶ-Boulder's Glenn Miller Ballroom. Doors for the event, sponsored by Ƶ-Boulder's Program Council, will open at 8 p.m. Student tickets are $15 and tickets for the public are $25. All guests will need a printed ticket and valid form of photo identification to enter.

Shakespearean space musical 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' to run March 4-13

The madcap jukebox musical “Return to the Forbidden Planet,” set in a rock ‘n’ roll Shakespearean spaceship, comes to University Theatre this March. Associate Professor Cecilia Pang directs the production, which promises nonstop laughs, infectious tunes and a generous nod to the Bard.
