Former mechanical engineering faculty member Jenifer Blacklock has returned to the College of Engineering and Applied Science as the director of the Rady Program at Western Colorado University. She will lead the Western-¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder partnership alongside Senior Instructor Holly Brunkal.

Terri Fiez, vice chancellor for research and innovation, has announced that Denitta Ward, assistant vice chancellor for research and director of the Office of Contracts and Grants, will retire this summer.

Patrick O’Rourke, who has served the University of Colorado system for more than 15 years as an attorney, administrator and adjunct faculty member, will remain in his role as ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder’s chief operating officer.

University of Colorado Law School Professor Kristen Carpenter, an American Indian law scholar with expertise in property, cultural property, human rights and Indigenous peoples, has been appointed as a justice of the inaugural Supreme Court of the Shawnee Tribe.

The New Venture Challenge, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder's premier cross-campus entrepreneurial program and competition, connects the campus with the Boulder community. Participants attend events, network and collaborate with mentors and form startup teams to pitch for funding of up to $100,000. Apply by Jan. 29; the championships are scheduled for April 13.
