Comedian, actor and activist Dallas Goldtooth will speak at Ƶ Boulder at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The event will take place at Macky Auditorium and tickets are available now.

Tickets will be $2 for students, $5 for faculty and staff, and $10 for the general public. . The event is sponsored by Ƶ Boulder’s student-run Cultural Events Board (CEB).

Perhaps best known for his role as William Knifeman in the FX series “Reservation Dogs,”Goldtooth brings a unique perspective to the issues of environmental justice and environmental racism, which are central to this year’s talk, according to Marya Miften, speakers coordinator for CEB.

Why did the Cultural Events Board choose Dallas Goldtooth as a campus speaker?

We chose Dallas Goldtooth because his unique perspective on environmental justice and racism, shaped by his activism and background, provides a powerful and inspiring voice that highlights how environmental issues disproportionately affect marginalized communities. We believe his insights will not only educate but also inspire students to think critically about environmental justice and their role in it.

What about his work and career will connect with and intrigue Ƶ students?

As an activist of Dakota and Diné heritage, Goldtooth has firsthand experience with how environmental issues disproportionately impact Indigenous communities and other marginalized groups. Goldtooth’s background and work are not only inspiring but also serve as a powerful call to action, encouraging students to engage in efforts to address and mend these disproportionate effects on vulnerable communities. His ability to connect personal and communal experiences with broader environmental issues makes him an ideal speaker choice.
