Wrapping up the semester is busy enough without worrying about what to do with your bicycle over the summer. If you’re leaving Boulder and need a place to store your bike, the Environmental Center has you covered! And if you’re done with your bike, read on to find out how to help a Buff in need by donating it.
For just $20 (for the entire summer) the Ƶ Bike Program can store your wheels safely and securely. Your bike will be stored in a covered location and available for pick-up during the first week of fall 2022 classes.
Bicycle Programs Coordinator Samuel Forsyth says this is a much safer option than leaving your bike at an outdoor, unmonitored bike rack. “Bikes left locked up without anyone to check on them are often stolen or damaged,” Forsyth said. “We encourage all students to take advantage of the Ƶ Bike Program summer storage, which is affordable and convenient.”
Students can sign up and pay for , from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., at the Williams Village bus stop or the University Memorial Center (UMC) bike shelter. The $20 fee must be paid by debit or credit card (no cash or digital payments will be accepted). No reservations are needed, but bikes are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bikes can be reclaimed by their owners the first week of fall semester classes, starting Aug.22. Stored bikes will not be available for early pick-up. Be sure to have your Buff OneCard or another form of identification when you show up to reclaim your bike.
Done with your bicycle forever? Instead of abandoning it, use it for good! You can donate your unwanted bike to the Ƶ Bike Program, where it’ll be readied for its next rider, whether that be a Ƶ Boulder student or another community member in need of transportation. Donations will be accepted at the same times and locations as storage drop-off.
