The Diversity and Inclusion Summit on Nov. 10 will include a discussion of So you want to talk about race by Ijeoma Oluo. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the text and its powerful themes. Prior familiarity with the book, while encouraged, is not required.
Drawing on the library resource guide for the text, the conversation will flow between three panelists: Gwendalynn Roebke, an undergraduate student and member of the Black Student Alliance, Sam Flaxman, associate professor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Amy Moreno, director of inclusive culture in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The moderators will be Kalyani Fernando and Amanda Rybin Koob of the University Libraries.
