In this time of heightened uncertainty, disruption, and stress, the Renée Crown Wellness Institute invites our community to gather together to participate in six weeks of guided meditation practice focused on individual and collective wellness. The experiential series will provide guided somatic meditation practices of approximately 20 to30 minutes in length, followed by time for connection and discussion. The purpose of somatic (“relating to the body”) meditation is to more deeply connect with our body, as a way to find grounding, presence, and our full human hearts, even during challenging times.
Anyone can participate, regardless of prior experience with meditation, including brand new beginners. These sessions are intended to provide an opportunity for faculty, staff, studentsand community members to strengthen our inner resources, to create or sustain connections with one another, and to learn about wellness practices that are core to current research projects.
The six-week series will be led by Bryn Rees, who has been a student of meditation since 2003 and teaches programs in Boulder and Crestone, Colorado. His practice and teachings focus on the body, and the gateway it serves into deep grounding, inspirationand meaning. A father of two young children, he is especially interested in the union of meditation practice with the realities of family and work life. Bryn works at Ƶ Boulder in the area of Research and Innovation and has been a collaborator on multiple Crown Institute research studies.
Please join us on Fridays for six weeks, starting on June 5 from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. ; after registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
