Chris Gotski, director of the , will retire at the end of 2019. Gotski has been with the store for 10 years and has held associate director and director roles during his tenure. Associate directors Jessica Carlsen and Tristy Hillestad will jointly manage the store operations until a new director is in place.
Gotski answered a few questions as he prepares to depart.
What’s your best memory from being the bookstore director?
It’s a tie, the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Book Store winning the NACS Foundation’s Collegiate Retailer of the Year award in 2015, and as my career at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ spanned twoÌýdecades, the 62-36 win over Nebraska!
What didn’t you expect when you became the director?
How well the store is respected by the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ community!
Will Hawaiian shirts always be in style?
Of course!
What are you most looking forward to in retirement?
Travel and exploring new opportunities to make a difference!
What will you miss about the bookstore?
My co-workers—we are an amazing team, and I’ll miss the daily interactions with them.
