Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists and authors of The New York Times exposédetailing the Harvey Weinstein allegations, will speak at Math Building room 100on Monday, Oct.21. Kantor and Twohey are hosted by the Distinguished Speakers Board, a Ƶ Boulder student-led organization.

Doors will open at 7p.m., with the event beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are sold out.

Ƶ Boulder student ($2) and faculty-staff ($10) tickets will be cash only, requiring a valid Buff OneCard at time of purchase. Tickets will be sold weekdaysfrom 10 a.m to 3 p.m. beginning Monday, Oct.7, at the first-floor event table in the University Memorial Center and will continue through Monday, Oct.21, or until tickets are sold out.

Please note:Your previously purchased Macky ticket will be scanned to enter the venue, however, all seats have been transferred into general admission. On Oct.5, 2017, The New York Times published an —and then the world changed. But nothing could have prepared the two reporters for what followed the publication of their Weinstein story. Within days, a veritable Pandora’s Box of sexual harassment and abuse was opened, and women who had suffered in silence for generations began coming forward, trusting that the world would understand their stories.

Over the next 12months, hundreds of men from every walk of life and industry also would be accused of mistreatingcolleagues. But did too much change—or not enough? Those questions plunged the two journalists into a new phase of reporting and some of their most startling findings yet.

“DSB believes their experience and perspective are integral to understanding, unpackingand examining the behavior of those in positions of power, and to further understand journalistic practices to amplify the voices of those who are not.”

The Distinguished Speakers Board is a student-run cost center of Ƶ Student Government. The board strives to bring diverse speakers that will intellectually challenge the student body, as well as spark meaningful dialogue surrounding relevant issues on campus. Past speakers the board has hosted include Anderson Cooper, Viola Davis, Scott Kelly, Brené Brown, Laverne Cox, Edward Snowden (via videoconference), Rudy Giuliani, Madeleine Albright and many more.
