As the cultural diversity center of the UMC, the DSCC is an inclusive space that seeks to enhance multi-cultural and social awareness for our campus community. In collaboration with historically underrepresented student groups, the DSCC offers many opportunities to learn and celebrate diversity. Here are some of the ways you can get involved with the DSCC this year.
Learn and celebrate
The DSCC partners with campus departments and student groups to celebrate nationally recognized history and heritage months throughout the year. These programs celebrate the rich cultural, social and political contributions of diverse groups in our society. Upcoming history and heritage month programs include:
-
Latinx Heritage Month in September
-
LGBTQ+ History Month in October
-
Native American Heritage Month in November
Meet others at events
There are many opportunities to meet fellow Buffs and find community at the DSCC. Weekly programs feature cooking classes, films, dance lessons, crafts and in-depth dialogues.
Relax, study and hang out
Need a place to study? Looking to meet with a student group on campus? The space in the DSCC is open and available to use by anyone. Student organizations can email dscc@colorado.edu or contact UMC Events, Planning, and Catering to reserve the space ahead of time.
