The Academic Futures subcommittees are submitting to campus some of the compelling ideas that have emerged from combined campus input over the fall semester.ÌýThese ideas arose from white papers, town hall meetings, unit-based meetings and themed discussions.Ìý

In the third part of a multipart Academic Futures video series, Jennifer McDuffie, assistantÌývice chancellor for student affairs, is askingÌýfor your feedback on a set of ideas the student-centered campus subcommittee has coalesced around. This is your opportunity to weigh in on these ideas, submitting feedback by June 1.Ìý

How about…

  • A campuswide core curriculum no matter the college or school you enter
  • Creating shared experiences and traditions that every student who enters ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ will have
  • A first year-experience that integrates the academic environments with student engagement in programs, services and support personalized to the student

What if…

  • Every student who enters could shape their academic degree to their needs whether that be in global education or research
  • Classes were taught in various timelines, not just a semester, but intensive over multiple weeks and online
  • Co-curricular certificates were offered, encouragedÌýand conferred at graduation

Could we…Ìý

  • Work together to create a campus that is inclusive and welcoming for all people
  • Systemically remove barriers and build an infrastructure that is student-friendly
