Provost Russell L. Moore announced today the two finalists selected for the position of associate vice provost for faculty affairs. The finalists are Katherine Eggert, professor of English in the College of Arts andÌýSciences,Ìýand Michele Moses, professor of education in the School of Education.

Members of the campus community are invited to meet each candidate and ask questions during open forums to be held next week. Participants will have an opportunity after each forum to respond to a survey to provide input.

Michele Moses Moses received her PhD in educational foundations, policy and practice in 1999 from ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder. She joined the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder faculty in 2005 as associate professor and in 2011 was promoted to professor. Moses is the 2016 recipient of the Hazel Barnes Prize, the largest and most prestigious single faculty award funded by ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder.

Katherine Eggert Eggert received her PhD in English in 1991 from University of California at Berkeley. She joined the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder faculty in 1991 as assistant professor of English, was promoted to associate professor in 1999 and to professor in 2015. Eggert is currently the quality initiatives leader in the Office of the Provost, an important role in the campus's re-accreditation process.

The associate vice provost for faculty affairs will work part-time in 2018 to assist the vice provost and associate vice chancellor for faculty affairs in managing personnel processes, specifically by chairing the Vice Chancellor's Advisory Committee (VCAC) and performing duties associated with that role; will assist in handling faculty personnel decisions and processes from hire to retirement, and may also engage with other members of the Office of Faculty Affairs on matters related to other policies and processes managed by the unit (such as Program Review).
