Hello, everyone! With the Diversity and Inclusion Summit happening this week, our events are centered on cultural education, equality and diversity. Don’t miss out on these fun opportunities to learn something new and engage with more people.
This week brings a performance highlighting life as a Latina immigrant, a personal testimony from entrepreneur John Crestani, a lunch meet-and-greet with the Chancellor’s Committee on Gender and Sexuality, the Spanish and Portuguese Cultural Evening, a screening and discussion of the newdocumentary from the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, a night about immigration and DACA, the annual Veterans Day Ceremony, Middle East Night, an improv show with Spaghetti Confession and the Rocky Mountain Ice Showdown.

As part of the Diversity and Inclusion Summit, swing by the Glenn Miller Ballroom at 3 p.m. for an amazing live performance and learn about life as a Latina immigrant. The show, free and open to all,will highlight the bravery, resilience and hope needed to settle in a new country.
With the internet at our fingertips, reaching huge numbers of people and affecting change has never been so easy or so accessible to everyone. Join entrepreneur John Crestani for a free personal testimony on the importance and methods of affecting change over the internet and business successfrom 6 to 9 p.m. in HUMN 150.
No matter who you are or how you identify, whether you’re LGBTQ or an ally, you’re invited to come meet the Chancellor’s Committee on Gender and Sexuality at a free lunch (featuring tacos), as part of the Diversity and Inclusion Summit. Join the Spanish and Portuguese Department for a bilingual night of live music and literature readings to help illuminate the Spanish and Portuguese cultures. Drop by on The Hill between 7 and 9 p.m. to hear these fantastic performances for free.

The new documentary film from the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in the Dakotas, Awake is a truly eye-opening look at the recent events at Standing Rock that centered on environmental justice, clean waterand the rights of the indigenous people. Come see the film about the protests that rocked our country for free from 6 to 8 p.m. in HUMN 1B80.
Join the Women’s Resource Center for a discussion of the recent cancellation of the DACA program and what it means for Dreamers. From 6 to 8 p.m. in UMC 386, you can learn about the legal implications and effects the cancelation of DACA will have for immigrants and others.
Friday, Nov. 10
Join the University Memorial Center and the Office of Veteran Services for the 2017 Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. The event will feature Rear Admiral Rick Snyder, U.S. Navy, and the Ƶ Boulder Joint ROTC Color Guard. The ceremony will be followed by a reception and time to celebrate the new artifacts received from the USS Colorado BB-45.
Join the Middle Eastern Student Association for Middle East Night, an evening of free food, dancing, hennaand games from 6 to 11 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. All are invited to come and celebrate Middle Eastern culture and enjoy a good meal.
Saturday, Nov. 11
If you’ve ever thought that improv comedy needs a little more audience participation or if you’ve ever just wanted to be part of the action, then come to this free improv show by Spaghetti Confession, one of Ƶ Boulder'smany talented groups, who heavily implement audience suggestion into their performance. They will be staging a free comedy showat 8 p.m. in Old Main.

In the height of football season, let’s not forget about our other Buff athletes: the incredible men’s and women’s hockey teams, who are both slated to take on CSU at the in Denver during this year’s Rocky Mountain Ice Showdown. The ladies play at noon, and the men take the ice at 2:30 p.m. Tickets start at $20.
