The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder Police DepartmentÌýwill be conducting the fall semester test just before noon Wednesday, Sept. 20. The test is required by a federal law, known as , and will test our ability to send text messages, emails, social media posts, computer desktop alerts and website announcements during an emergency.
Before the test next week, we ask that all students, faculty and staff check their account to make sure their information is up to date. See below for instructions.
Students and employees
Any campus affiliate with a university email account (@colorado.edu) can check or enter their information through the .
Employees who work on campus (such as construction or dining contractors) who are not students, faculty or staff and do not have one of the emailÌýdomains listed above can work with the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder Alert administrator to ensure they are in the alert database. Please contact the IT Support Center for further assistance by emailingÌýhelp@colorado.eduÌýor call 303-735-HELP.
Campus partners
¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder partners with either @cu.edu, @cufund.org, @cusys.edu or @ucdenver email domains must register and maintain their information .
New this year is the , which uses Wi-Fi to send campusÌýemergency alerts when cell service is unavailable. This is a great solution for people who work in basements, areas with poor cellular signal, or have a Wi-Fi based phone.
If an emergency involves a threat to personal safety or a campus closure, a campus alert will be sent using one or all of the communication methods available. For urgent emergencies, text messaging is the preferred method of the system since it reaches the most individuals in the least amount of time.
During an emergency that affects the campus, critical updates, additional detailsÌýand any necessary instructions regarding the nature of the emergency will be posted atÌý, university social media sites and on the campus Emergency Information Line at 303-492-4636 (303-492-INFO).
After the scheduled test, if you feel you should have received an alert and didn’t, or if you need help signing up for the system, email theÌýÌý²¹³ÙÌýhelp@colorado.edu.
