Folsom Field is packed with fans as the sun sets behind the Flatirons.

The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder Police Department (¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵPD) works hard to ensure attendees of on-campus events can safely enjoy themselves. As we all get ready for the home football season, we wanted to remind you of some of the safety and security measures in place to keep everyone safe while enjoying the game.

Fans will only be allowed to bring items into the stadium using a clear bag, which is becoming more standard at sporting events across the country. was put in place last season and is in effect for football games at Folsom Field and for all ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ volleyball matches and men's basketball and women's basketball games at the Coors Events Center.

The bag can be a one-gallon resealable clear plastic storage bag, or no larger than 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches. You will also be allowed one small clutch purse that can be no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.

On football game days, concrete barriers will be used to close Colorado Avenue at Folsom Street and 18thÌýAvenue as well as sidewalks around Folsom Field. These barricades replaced the standard, light-weight barriers that had been used in the past and will provide better protection for you as you walk near the stadium. In addition to this, some police officers will carry rifles, which also is becoming more common at major sporting events.

All of the changes have been made with the safety of all of our guests in mind. We work diligently to make sure you have an enjoyable and safe experience at the games.
