The Department of Human Resources (HR) invitesÌýnew employeesÌýin their first 12 to 18 months of employment to attend the May 19 ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Discover session focusing on making excellence inclusive at the University of Colorado Boulder.

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder prioritizes , an approach coined by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). Campus climate data has identified the need for ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ to increase knowledge and awareness, develop employees and students,Ìýand take strategic action to create a welcoming and inclusive campus environment.

During this session, you will receive a foundational description of ,Ìýas well as resources and tools to further your understanding of Inclusive Excellence and enable you to begin approaching your work with through an inclusive lens.

At the end of the session, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe Inclusive Excellence (IE) as an AAC&U initiative.
  • Utilize the Making Excellence Inclusive summary and three commissioned papers for further learning and strategic planning.
  • Describe IE as a framework for addressing campus climate.
  • Communicate the need for IE on ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder’s campus.
  • Recognize the external and internal factors that affect IE.Ìý

Senior Training & Development SpecialistÌýAmy Moreno will present the Making Excellence Inclusive session.Ìý

Moreno has a Master of Education in educational leadership and policy studies, Bachelor of Science in animal scienceÌýand Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from Iowa State University. She is certified in Real Colors, Everything DiSC, Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High, and Strengths Educator.Ìý

Moreno is passionate about engaging employees in developing intercultural competence and inclusive workplace practices, developing mentoring programs, facilitating self-reflection opportunities and personality assessments, and developing an inclusive campus.
