Kristine Larson, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder professor at theÌý, has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the Chalmers University of Technology.
Located in Gothenburg, Sweden, Chalmers is known for its engineering education and research programs.
Larson is receiving the doctorate in recognition of her groundbreaking research using GPS signals to measure soil moisture, snow depth, vegetationÌýand sea level. Her work has contributed to improved hydrological studies, weather forecasting, climate modelsÌýand sea-level rise estimates—highly relevant researchÌýfor global sustainable development.
Larson served as a visiting professor at Chalmers fromÌý2010 to 2011, where she worked on the development of techniques to measure sea level with GNSS-signals, andÌýmaintains an ongoing collaboration with researchers there. She has been an aerospace faculty member at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder since 1990.
