What Can Society Take: Stress, Resilience and You panel discussion.Despite the multitudinous ways we know to relieve stress, it still plagues American society and it still plagues us college students. Sit in on a panel discussion from 6:30 to 8 p.m.in Hale 270 where the woes of stress and its impact on people will be discussed in great detail, including historical, geneticand psychological factors and implications. This event is free and open to all.

Open Mic Night.The Dennis Small Cultural Center welcomes anyone and everyone with something to sharein UMC 457 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. You can come and perform your writing, music, comedyor just about anything else artistic that you may do, or just come and watch! This is a free performance and a great place to showcase what you do.
Before the Floodpre-premier screening.A new documentary film by Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, Before the Flood opensnew eyes to the global problem of climate change, a threat that grows more threatening the longer we wait. This film'spowerful message to all is that now is the time to begin changing the way that we live, before nature mandates changes beyond our control. It will be shown for free inHumanities 150 from 6 to 8 p.m. and there will be Half Fast sandwiches provided.

Adventure Film Festival.Boulder Theater hosts this year’s Adventure Film Festival, which features the best adventure films of 2016, a food-filled street festival, a kickoff partyand a giant raffle. This weekend is when Boulder comes together to celebrate its collective outdoorsy and adventurous tendencies, so be sure to get in on the action. Check out the website for a full schedule of events.
Leeds Business Career Fair.The annual Leeds Career Fair is a vital resource to business students hoping to find a job or break into an industry. There will be tons of representatives present from a plethora of companies and groups. The quantity of potential employers is enormous, so be there or be square. The fair will take place at Sports Authority Field between 1 and 6 p.m. and is open to all Leeds students.
Sleeping Well to Be Your BestɴǰDZ.Sleep is the number one thing students overlook when preparing for exams, so make sure you’re getting enough. If this is a struggle, then consider joining sleep expert Christine Gust to gain some valuable tips and tricks for getting enough shut-eye. This workshop takes place from noon to 1 p.m.in UMC 247 and you’ll have to register beforehand on the website. Free lunch will be provided.
Aboriginal Skies: In the Land of the Lightning Brothers.In addition to having an awesome name, this show, which takes place in Fiske from 7 to 8pm, will combine planetary projections on the Dome, ancient stories, and cutting edge research on both Aboriginal culture and astrophysics. It is inspired by the incredible stories and beliefs of the Aboriginal people of Australia in regard to the night sky, and I guarantee you will learn something new. The show is free with a valid Buff OneCard.

Swing Dance Club “Swing Dance Night.”Grab a dance partner and roll on down to the Atlas Plaza at 7 p.m.for a free lesson in swing dancing, hosted by the one and only Ƶ Swing Dance club. This is a great way to meet some new people and a rare opportunity to work on your dance moves for free so don’t miss out!
Free Friday Power Hour: Tuff Buff.If you’re looking to get stronger and more in-shape, then get yourself to Studio 2 of the Rec Center at 5 p.m.for an hour of serious butt-kicking. Tuff Buff is one heck of a workout, in which you will work on power and cardiovascular fitness. The class is free tonight, and very popular, so get there early!
Family Weekend.Hurrah for the parents who raised us to be the semi-adults that we are! Show them a good time this weekend when they come into town for Ƶ Boulder’s family weekend with with all kinds of activities, including a home football game versus Oregon State (Go Buffs!). Make sure they register beforehand to get in on all the action.
