Did you know that as a University of Colorado employee, you can receive one-on-one investment advice and guidance on Ƶ’s retirement investment plan options? TIAA financial consultants will be on campus in June and July to do just that.

Designed to help Ƶ employees determine the resources necessary to best prepare for the future, these one-on-one consultations are available on each Ƶ campus with appointments to fit any schedule.

During your meeting, a TIAA financial consultant will help you answer three questions:

  • Am I on track to reach my retirement goals?
  • Which asset allocation mix and investment strategy is right for me?
  • How can I meet my income needs in retirement?

TIAA consultants don’t work on commission and won’t push products; they’ll work to understand your situation and goals then provide education and guidance tailored to your needs. While the meeting’s focus is retirement planning, they alsoprovide an opportunity to discussother financial issues or concerns.

“Just as you visit your doctor for your annual physical checkup, the same should hold true for the review of your retirement planning,” said Elizabeth Stemper, principal at Innovest Portfolio Solutions, LLC, the university’s independent retirement plan consultant. “We encourage participants to meet at least annually with a financial consultant – the knowledge you gain will help empower you to focus on achieving your retirement goals through informed choices throughout the planning process.”

These consultations are also encouraged for Ƶ faculty and staff who have money in funds with previous employers or with Ƶ’s former retirement vendors, following . TIAA’s consultants can walk employees through the steps to move their money over to Ƶ’s new lineup, if appropriate.
