The Student Organization for Alumni Relations' 38th annual Teaching Recognition Awards were presented on April 14 in a ceremony at the Koenig Alumni Center honoring four ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ-Boulder educators who have won the respect and admiration of their students.

Presented each spring, SOAR's Teacher Recognition Awards are the only faculty honors that are selected and administered by ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ-Boulder undergraduate students. Awarded in four class-size categories, each teacher receives $1,500 from the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Parents Association and the Alumni Association's Directors Club.

The 1999 winners are: German instructor Patty Schindler, for the under 25 class-size category; communications instructor Brian Daniell, for the 26 to 40 class-size category; political science instructor Lauri McNown, in the 41 to 75 class-size category; and astronomy professor Juri Toomre, for the 76 and above class-size category.
