The Office of Institutional Relations at the University of Colorado at Boulder has announced two new staff appointments.

Wynn Martens, former events and commencement coordinator for the university, has been named director of community relations and special events. She will be responsible for developing and maintaining ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ community outreach programs, planning commencement and external events for the Chancellor's Office, and for managing the Chancellor's Advisory Council, the faculty speaker's bureau, the Pathfinder's Program and ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ This Summer.

Martens has extensive public relations and marketing experience with several area organizations including the Denver Art Museum and the Boulder Public Library. She has a bachelor of arts degree in fine art history from ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ-Boulder.

Dee Martinez, former manager of the Public Relations Office at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, has been named director of internal relations at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ-Boulder. Her primary responsibility will be to create, implement and manage an internal communications program for the Boulder campus.

The internal relations program will include an electronic internal news service, a segmented listserv for direct communications to the chancellor and an internal bi-weekly publication. She also will coordinate internal events for the chancellor.

Martinez has a bachelor of science degree in biology from Metropolitan State College in Denver.

Both positions report to Bobbi Barrow, executive director of institutional relations, who moved to the Boulder campus in September. Barrow formerly was public relations director at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Health Sciences Center.
