Commander's Intent

Purpose: To lead, organize, and set the conditions for all our midshipmen to successfully complete academic and commissioning requirements and prepare for service as officers in the USN and USMC.

Method: The MIDN Bn will work closely with the NROTC staff to develop, communicate, and execute an effective and efficient training & education plan and other activities & engagements that achieve the below priorities and leads to the desired end-state. I want to maximize integration between our Navy and Marine options in areas that make sense while also preserving the necessary training preparations to enable success in summer training (CORTRAMID, FMF, Summer Cruises, OCS) & beyond. As a student & tenet organization, the Bn will seek appropriate engagement with the University, local communities, and alumni to enable leadership opportunities and expand relationships. We will DOMINATE and WIN every competition we enter!

Endstate: A holistic environment that produces graduated & fully qualified, resilient, high-character USN/USMC commissioned officers capable of competently leading our nation’s Sailors and Marines while also attracting new members from the University, high school, and STA-21/MECEP ranks as the most desirable NROTC program in the nation.
