The Center for Neuroscience serves as a nodal administrative structure the purposes of which are to organize and foster the development of neuroscience research and teaching at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder. The center faculty members are affiliated with 13 different departments and institutes at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder. The Center for Neuroscience:
- Administers the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder Neuroscience PhD program
- Fosters interdisciplinary interdepartmental research and interaction
- Obtains both federal and corporate funds to support the development of neuroscience at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder
- Acts as a focal point for interaction with the neuroscience community at large such as national organizations and programs at other universities
- Fosters interest in neuroscience among undergraduates at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder
