- Ben McMillan, a PhD student advised by Associate Professor Nathalie Vriend in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering, recently took first place in the Gallery of Soft Matter Physics video competition for his research on the internal dynamics of granular flow and its effects on clogging.
- Miller was recently honored with a 2022 Distinguished Research Lectureship – one of the highest awards bestowed upon a faculty member at the University of Colorado Boulder by their peers. It honors a faculty member who has been with ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder for at least five years and is widely recognized for a distinguished body of academic or creative achievement and prominence, as well as contributions to the educational and service missions of the university.

- As a professional master’s student in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering, Katrina Leyden moonlights as a machinist and welder for local bike shops in the Boulder area. But it wasn’t until Leyden recently won the PBE X SRAM
- Shelly Miller has received the 2022 Faculty Research Award from the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The honor, which is bestowed annually, recognizes achievements by a faculty member who has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of knowledge through research activities.
- Debbie Yeh, area director of undergraduate advising for the mechanical engineering and electrical, computer and energy engineering departments, has been awarded the 2022 chancellor’s Employee of the Year Award.
- Ahmed Ashmaig (MechEngr'23), the president of ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder's chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), has received the university's Ripple Award. The award is given by the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder's Center for Inclusion and Social Change in collaboration with the Dennis Small Cultural Center.
