¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ

My name is Kelsea Keenan. I am juniorÌýstudying mechanical engineering and following the environmental curriculum at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO where I went to Palmer High School and received my International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2016.

During my time at the College of Engineering and Applied Science, I have tried to be as active as possible. I currently work at the Integrated Teaching Learning Lab on campus where I interact with undergraduate and graduate students on different engineering project prototyping. I was awarded the Imagine¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ mechanical mentorship role through which I represent women in engineering and create a supportive and expressive community for women in STEM. I was also the President of Theta Tau, the Coed Professional Engineering Fraternity on campus. When I am not running around in the engineering student world, I like to hike with my dog, skiÌýand spendÌýtime with family and friends.

Initially, I entered theÌýCollege of Engineering and Applied ScienceÌýwith an open option engineering degree track and spent theÌýyear figuring out that mechanical engineering was the right fit for me. I chose mechanicalÌýengineering, because it offers a wide variety of future opportunities. I would love to work with energy systems and create sustainable solutions to support our planet and fight climate change. I would also like to continue to be a role model to the underrepresented community of women in STEM fields.
