Loft Bed Information
Loft details
- Loft beds are not suitable for everyone. Please review the video below before you decide to order a loft.
- Not all spaces in a hall are loftable due to the configuration of the room and safety requirements.
- Halls that can accommodate lofted beds are: Aden, Baker, Brackett, Buckingham, Cheyenne Arapaho, Cockerell, Crosman, Darley North, Darley South, Farrand, Hallett, Kittredge Central, Libby, Sewall, Smith, Stearns East, Stearns West and Williams Village North
- We cannot accommodate lofted beds in Andrews, Arnett Halls, Bear Creek, Kittredge West, Reed, Weber, Willard and Williams Village East
- Our standard beds provide two feet, 11 inches underneath the bed, which accommodates the dressers provided (see below).
- Lofted beds provide four feet, 11 inches of space underneath the bed but only 26.5 inches between the top of the mattress and ceiling (you cannot sit upright on the top of the bed if it is lofted).
- There is a $120 non-refundable fee added to your Bursar's account if you request a loft and are assigned to a loftable space. This fee is subject to all payment deadlines.
- If you plan to request a room change, you should not submit a loft request until the September process to avoid the nonrefundable $120 charge.
