The Organization and Employee Development (OED) team in Human Resources leads professional development trainings that are available to all employees at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder. Topics include communication, productivity, hybrid work, inclusive practices, and leadership. Join the Anderson Language and Technology Center (ALTEC) in our engaging language classes! Evening classes are perfect for busy adults with a desire to learn new languages and cultures. These classes are non-credit with no tests and our students are highly motivated to learn the language for use in their profession, social life and travels.

The Center for Inclusion and Social Change is committed to providing quality development opportunities to students and staff alike. Offerings include:

The Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG) provides a variety of training events, discussion forums and other professional development focused on research administration and ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder business practices throughout the year. Visit the OCG Training and Education page to learn more. 

The Department of Human Resources and Engineering Management Program have partnered on the Leadership and Management Graduate Certificate Program for ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder employees. 
 
The goal of this certificate program is to help our current and future leaders develop and refine their leadership skills and learn new ways to measure and enhance organizational effectiveness with practical application. The content of this certificate program is applicable to all professions and does not require a technical or engineering background.

In addition to being able to use the tuition benefit to cover tuition, employees selected to participate in this exclusive program will be allowed to attend classes during work time and the employee’s department will pay for the costs of any fees and books.

General Programs

OIEC offers educational programs to students, staff, and faculty that are skills-based education for effectively reducing and addressing discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, intimate partner abuse, and stalking. Course include:

Americans with Disabilities Act Trainings 

ADA Compliance offers 45 to 90 minute workshops several times per year. Please submit training requests at least three weeks in advance. Some common trainings from ADA Compliance include:

  • Service animals
  • Effective communication with people with disabilities
  • Pregnancy accommodations
  • How to make an event accessible

Mandatory Training

The university requires training for all new members of the campus community. This includes undergraduate, graduate and law school students, staff, faculty, volunteers, and affiliates. Visit the Mandatory Training page to learn more. 

The Ombuds office serves as a good place to surface, voice, clarify and discuss university-related issues. They help people identify options to resolve disputes, to determine a course of action and to aid in the informal resolution of conflicts and concerns. Ultimately, individuals choose their own path of resolution.
