AAG 2024 Colorado node in Guggenheim April 16-20
Over the past 5 years, the Association of American Geographers has worked to find ways to significantly reduce the carbon emissions associated with the annual conference. As part of these efforts, the Association is experimenting this year with self-organized nodes to be held in ten locations.
The Department of Geography at the University of Colorado Boulder will serve as the host of one such node. During the entire period of the meeting (April 16, 17, 18, 19, 20), we will hold “watch parties” to watch selected streamed and/or recorded virtual and hybrid sessions in a group setting, on the Ƶ Boulder campus. In addition, on Saturday, April 20 we plan to hold an in-person mini-conference at the node.
We hope for this to be an opportunity for scholars at different institutions in Colorado (and beyond) to meet, share research, and network, without traveling to the physical AAG conference location in Hawaii. We welcome participation from faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students.
