Our former colleague, Lynn Staeheli, passed away December 20th 2020 at her home in Tucson, AZ. Lynn joined the department as an assistant professor in 1989 after completing her PhD at the University of Washington. Subsequently she was promoted to Associate and Full Professor. She taught courses in urban, political and feminist geography and was graduate advisor for over a dozen PhD graduates at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ. She left in 2005 for a Professorship at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) and was subsequently a professor at the University of Durham (UK) and Head of the School of Georaphy and Regional Development at the University of Arizona. In addition to her distinguished research, she had an admirable commitment to social justice and to mentoring students and early career scholars around the world. We extend our sympathies to her husband, retired Professor of Geography,
Nel Caine, and to her sons and family.
