Waleed Abdalati receives NASA funding to study polar ice sheets and sea level rise
Waleed Abdalati was selected for funding under NASA's Interdisciplinary Science solicitatation. Dr. Abdalati and colleagues from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and Sigma Space Corporation will examine data from the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission, Ice Cloud and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat) mission, and airborne laser altimetry surveys of Greenland and Antarctica to characterize how the ice sheets are contributing to sea level rise, and what today's changes may mean for the future. Proposal was for $1.65 million in total over three years.
