At the beginning of the lockout-shortened pro season, three former Buffs were on NBA regular-season rosters —Chauncey BillupsÌý(Soc ex’99) of the Los Angeles Clippers and ex-¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ teammatesÌýAlec BurksÌý(A&S ex’11) of the Utah Jazz andÌýCory HigginsÌý(A&S’11) of the Charlotte Bobcats.
Billups was picked up by the Clippers after being waived by the New York Knicks. Burks was selected by the Jazz in the NBA draft lottery, and Higgins was claimed off waivers by the Bobcats. Higgins’ father, Rod, is Charlotte’s president of basketball operations.
