- Sean Winters, a lecturer in the Department of Critical Media Practices, is part of a team of developers creating a new virtual reality experience with a unique purpose: helping patients undergoing medical treatment.
- Recent graduate Bryan Chi Hun Lai wanted to explore the relationship between space and sound, all while inspiring others to do the same. In a spring art exhibition, Chi Hun took attendees on a meditative, extended reality experience to a goldfish pond.
- CMCI continues its pre-collegiate outreach efforts through the 2022 Connections: CMCI Summer Academy.High school students, CMCI peer mentors, faculty and staff came together this July to build new bonds and celebrate the first fully in-person year of the program.

- The third annual Mimesis Documentary Festival will be held in Boulder from Tuesday, Aug. 2, to Sunday, Aug. 7. The festival, which is open to the public and University of Colorado Boulder community, is hosted by the College of Media, Communication and Information’s Center for Documentary and Ethnographic Media (CDEM).

- Fourth-year student Shawn Mitchell was planning to study physics until a gap year changed the course of his collegiate experience. This month, Mitchell is ready to graduate and pursue his passion for immersive media with the distinction of being the Department of Critical Media Practice’s William W. White Outstanding Senior.
