CMCI continues its pre-collegiate outreach efforts through the 2022 Connections: CMCI Summer Academy.High school students, CMCI peer mentors, faculty and staff came together this July to build new bonds and celebrate the first fully in-person year of the program.
For the past 10 years, incoming college first-year students have flocked to Ƶ’s campus to get a taste of college life before the semester begins. After two years of COVID-induced restrictions, the Pathways to Excellence program is back in full swing in 2022.
The Center for Environmental Journalism is proud to welcome the 26th class of Ted Scripps Fellows in Environmental Journalism. The fellows will spend nine months at the University of Colorado Boulder working on long-term, in-depth journalistic projects and digging into critical questions.
CMCI students who have completed at least 12 credit hours of Ƶ Boulder course work for a letter grade in any single semester and achieve a term grade point average of 3.75 or better are included on the Dean’s List. They receive a notation on
Walter “Dusty” Saunders (Jour’53), a Colorado journalism icon, provided the Front Range with more than 54 years of service at The Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post. On May 29, he died at age 90.

Co-founder and former editor-in-chief of The Bold, Hannah Prince will graduate this month as the 2022 Department of Journalism’s William W. White Outstanding Senior. She’ll apply her journalism training in her next adventure as an intern for ABC News.

In 1922, Ralph L. Crosman became the first head of the newly formed Department of Journalism at the University of Colorado. In a career marked by innovation and leadership, Crosman was an advocate for students and for improving journalism education.
