An accomplished media scholar, Pixar consultant and TED speaker, Christopher Bell uses media artifacts to discuss social issues that might otherwise be awkward to navigate.

Do characters in movies look like you, your neighbors or your co-workers? What about the books you read? Do they inspire your daughters or your sons? Race, gender and class all intersect with children's media and Dr. Bell will break it down, including how who tells the story influences what the characters look like and how the story is told.
