Kodas wins Colorado Book Award for Megafire
Released in August of 2017, Megafire details the stories of people and firefighters who’ve experienced an extremely intense and destructive class of wildfires firsthand, such as the Yarnell Hill Fire or the Waldo Canyon Fire. Throughout the book, Kodas explores both the environmental and sociological implications of this new phenomenon.
Colorado Humanities and Center for the Book announced the 2018 winners on June 2, 2018 at a reception and book signing at the Sie Film Center.
In addition to being an award-winning author, Kodas is an accomplished photojournalist who has photographed wildfires nationally and internationally. He is currently an instructor in the Department of Journalism in the College of Media, Communication and Information and he often serves as an expert on fires for local and national media.
