Students to produce "full dome" visuals for planetarium screen
The Department of Critical Media Practices is excited to announce a new joint project with Ƶ’s Fiske Planetarium. This collaboration offers our students an opportunity to conceptualize, produce and exhibit content in the planetarium as part of their course requirements. These projects provide students with a unique opportunity to enhance their photographic practice while providing a real-world introduction to immersive storytelling. Fiske Planetarium is offering the department access to their state of the art exhibition space, allowing our students to create “full dome” content and giving viewers a truly immersive viewing experience. To meet the technical specifications of the Fiske Planetarium, students will be trained on specific production equipment, including high resolution cameras, 180 degree lenses and multipart software platforms. Student project exhibitions will begin in March 2016.
