Our hearts are heavy as we all grieve the shootings on March 22 just south of central campus. We encourage everyone in our Ƶ and Boulder community to take care of themselves and each other through this time, recognizing that this process may look different for each of us. In addition to words of support, our students may appreciate a reminder of the campus resources available to them.
Ƶ Boulder offers free, 24/7 support to faculty, staff, and students. For faculty and staff, the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is available and prioritizing support for those directly impacted. They can be reached by phone or by filling out the “schedule an appointment” form on their website. For students, including graduate students, Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) provides multiple avenues of support. Anyone at Ƶ Boulder may also reach out to the Office of Victim Assistance (OVA), which provides information, consultation, support, advocacy and short term counseling services to those who have experienced a traumatic, disturbing or life disruptive event.

so I in my own way know
that the whale
can not digest me:
be firm in your own small, static, limited
orbit and the shark jaws
of outer circumstance
will spit you forth:
be indigestible, hard, ungiving.
